Verb To 'Do' (Do, Does & Did)

'Do', 'Does', 'Did' are the three forms of the verb 'to do'.

They are used to form questions. 





  Do   I  /  you  /  we  /  they  verb  ..... ?
   Does  he  /  she  /  it

bulletThey are also used to give short answers. 
       Examples
       1. Does she like ice cream?
          Yes, she does.
       2. Do you like ice cream?
          Yes, I do.        
   

bulletThey are also used  to form sentences with 'not'.





  I  /  You  /  We  /  They  do  not  verb   .....
  He  /  She  /  It  does  not
 

bulletWith past simple verbs, 'Did' is used to form questions. 





  Did  I  /  you  /  we  /  they he  /  she  /  it  verb..... ?
     

bulletWith past simple verbs, 'Did' is used to form sentences with 'not'. 





  I  /  You  /  We  /  They  He  /  She  /  It  did  not    verb   .....
         Example : Did he go to school yesterday?
                      No, he did not go to school yesterday.
